  9. Thiis is absolutely adorable. Just a question-is it regular cross stitch or counted cross stitch? I can do regular but not counted and it might go well in one of the rooms we are redoing in our house. Also, don’t believe I have seen KinCavel Krosses anywhere locally. Is there a website I can go on to look for a catalog?

    1. I’m not sure what you mean by “regular” cross stitch. As far as I’m aware, counted cross stitch IS regular – you just count along the little squares and put the stitches in the right place in relation to one another.

      As for a catalogue, you’re looking at it. Kincavel Krosses is only available from this blog and my Folksy store (also called Kincavel Krosses). I am not sold in any shops, so if you ever see any of my designs for sale anywhere but my own Folksy store, then someone is ripping us all off.

      All my freebie designs are available for free download right here (just click on the pics and you’ll get a larger version yo ucan download and print). You will also find direct links to my Folksy store whenever you come across one of the designs I sell instead of offering for free.

  25. This is so cute. I have never done a cross stitch before without buying the full kit. Is there a preferred type of thread to use (DMC/Anchor)? How many strands would you recommend using when doing the stitching? If there is anything else you can think of that I need to know please feel free to share :)

    1. I purposely don’t specify thread brand or thickness, as I leave the exact colour choices entirely up to the individual stitcher, along with the choice of fabric size. If stitching on 12, 14 or 18 count aida. I would suggest 2 strands of thread (also the same if you are stitching over two on 24, 26, or 18 count fabric). If stitching over one on 22 count or higher, I would suggest using only one strand of thread for cross stitching. If you’re only doing half cross (needlepoint style), I would suggest two strands.
