October is Breast Cancer Awareness month!

During this month, I would love it if you would like to use the free designs for cards, magnets, key fobs, scissor fobs, ornaments, bookmarks or anything else you can think of to raise money for breast cancer charities, whether local, national or international.

You can find the free designs here:

You can also buy the What Cancer Cannot Do Blackwork sampler from my Folksy store. All proceeds will go to Cancer Research UK.

Folksy will only let me list five at a time, so if it’s not there when you visit, please be patient – I will relist it at the first opportunity.

If you do stitch any of these designs, I’d love to see photos and will post them here.

Visit my Just Giving page.

    Lady Kell,

Thank you so much for the Free pattern for Whoo-hoo? Me? and Whoo-hoo? Me Too?. I just found out a few weeks ago I am going to be a First time Grandma. Whoo-hoo me. I am going to attempt to make a quilt for my 1st Grandchild and these patterns are just perfect. My daughter-in-law had only one request and that was at least one hand made Owl baby blanket. If all goes well I will be happy to send pictures. It will take me awhile to get this done, but will let you know how it goes.

    Thank you again.

  6. I love your designs. I just went through all of them as I thought perhaps you have done “The golden Rule.” Would love to see that! Thanks for sharing your talent!!!!

  1. I love all your designs Kell. I’m sure you could set up a wee business doing classes and teaching…lol.

  2. Thank you, Diane. :) I’d love to one day make a small living from my designs, but right now I’m just trying things out and getting my designs out there, trying to drum up a bit of a following for them… ;)

On the teaching side of things, well, I’m not sure I’d be able to do that – I know so many people with far more stitching experience and capabilities than mine!

  3. Wish I could get my mojo back for my cross stitch. I haven’t gotten back to the ones I bought!

  4. I love your Baa Baa Blackwork Sheep! I cant wait to stitch it!

  5. Thank you, Kayla. :) I hope you’ll send in a photo when you’ve stitched it – I’d love to see and post it in the gallery!

  6. *LOVE* the Eddie Izzard designs!

On another note, what do you use to design?

I’ve been trying to create designs of my own, and I just use graph paper and a pen. With that, I can’t really achieve the look I want. I’ve considered using some of those computer programs for cross stitch design, but I’m not sure which program to get.

    Thanks!

  7. Thanks, Virginia. :)

Sometimes I work on graph paper for the basic idea or motifs and then transfer them into a programme. Other times I work from scratch in the programme. The one I use is KG Stitch, which I downloaded for free, but it’s playing up at the moment – I have a design ready to publish and it won’t export – argh! I might have to download it again…

  8. [...] If you’re a fan of subversive samplers, then you might like this modern twist on a traditional style. The Bah! Humbug Christmas Subversive Sampler is a fun and quirky festive design with Christmas trees, sprigs of holly and Quaker stars in seasonal red and green. And it doesn’t take long to stitch – just four days after I posted the design, Ali-cat had finished her Humbug hanging and it looks great (you can see it in the Gallery of Stitches). [...]

  9. What a wonderful website! So many designs, so little time!

  10. Love your website.

I would like to work in cross stitch the following:

God Loves You and So Do I. God Bless You, Ronnie.

Where can I find a “dictionary” if that’s where to find it so that I can work this up on aida cloth in cross stitch.

    Thank you,
    Mary Ann

    • Thanks, Mary,

If you’r looking for an alphabet to use, you can find them in many cross stitch magazines, books and on websites too – just pop “cross stitch alphabet” in your search engine and it will list loads. Or you can make up your own. Or you can look at the alphabet samplers I have on this website and use the letters you need, arranging them on graph paper.

      Good luck!

  11. what beautiful xstitches. id love to learn. keep it up and thank you for sharing.
